Regardless of how you first discovered this unique movement art, the natural question is, "What is eurythmy?" In this exploration guided by Sea-Anna Vasilas, faculty and ensemble member of Eurythmy Spring Valley, you will explore that question through movement itself.

Come and enjoy this year's winter studio program. Once again, the members of the ESV Ensemble and eurythmists in the area have been preparing solos, duets, and group pieces, and will offer a rich array of works comprised of speech and tone eurythmy.
We're offering another weekly course for professional eurythmists. Natasha Moss will lead an exploration in the artistic elements of speech eurythmy and prepare a piece to be performed at the ESV Spring Studio Program on May 2, 2026. Join us!
The Ensemble is excited to offer their current evening program, centered around The Storm, a pivotal moment in the life story of contemporary activist Julia Butterfly Hill (with music by Grigory Smirnov), surrounded by poetry and music by Cowell, MacLeish, Chopin, and Smirnov, ending with lighthearted pieces and a Dvorak trio.

In this intensive, Dorothea Mier will provide a deepening exploration into the elements of tone eurythmy, enhancing both group and solo work, and complemented by a shared study. Barbara Schneider Serio will join Dorothea, working intensively on a tone group form. Join us for this rare opportunity to work with Dorothea on her life's work and research!
A two-week intensive designed for young adults 17-20, this overnight summer program will feature daily eurythmy rehearsals, creative writing, an outing in NYC, music, games, swimming, and a final performance of the participants' work.

This workshop is to introduce the principles for eurythmy in a social context for adults. We will explore the exercises, discussing adult learning principles, and meet our fellow eurythmists as well as the leaders of the Center for Anthroposophy and administrators. We welcome experienced eurythmists and consultants interested in exploring a new approach to social awareness and eurythmy for adults.

Tone Eurythmy Therapy offers a deepening of the basic elements of tone eurythmy and an introduction to the exercises developed as therapies for various conditions. The inherent therapeutic and harmonizing properties of the basic elements of music are powerfully effective and can be applied in therapeutic eurythmy as well as in hygienic eurythmy, pedagogical eurythmy, and in personal development.
How do colors move through the human being, and how can we listen and become this movement? Please join us for an exploration into the world of color in tone eurythmy with Sea-Anna Vasilas, speech eurythmy with Cameron MacArthur and painting with Keith Sagal.
During the first week, we'll be working on the curriculum for Grades 6-8 with Susan Eggers, a long-time eurythmist and a class teacher. With Lisa Profumo, a class teacher at the Berkshire Waldorf School, we'll explore the general middle school curriculum and the work with adolescents. During the second week, the focus will shift to high school students with Alexandra Spadea, a eurythmist at the Rudolf Steiner School, New York City.
Eurythmy Spring Valley Ensemble will perform excerpts from works from A Shovel of Stars. And the Summer Youth Eurythmy Intensive will present some of their pieces.

Grigory Smirnov is a pianist and composer, working closely with Eurythmy Spring Valley's school and performing ensemble. His music has been performed worldwide in major venues, such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Tanglewood Festival, Moscow Philharmonic Hall, and the Goetheanum, Switzerland.
