For seven years, Barbara Hadeljan did intensive goetheanistic study of a total of 29 species of the genus Potentilla, and thus, the appearance and nature of the White Cinquefoil crystallized. The plant is an important, but now almost forgotten traditional medicinal plant for various thyroid diseases. In this presentation, its regulating healing qualities in the thyroid area are elaborated from its appearance in the course of the year, the substances it contains, and its position within the diverse genus.
Barbara Hadeljan from Croatia, Europe, is a biologist, a eurythmist, and a teacher. She holds a diploma on Goethean botany from Dornach, Switzerland. Her work was published in the anthroposophical medicine newsletter Merkurstab, together with Vesna Forstnerič Lesjak, a Slovene pharmacist and farmer, and a co-leader of the Natural Science Section at the Goetheanum, Dornach, Switzerland.
