Rudolf Steiner as a scientific researcher asserts that when natural science is genuine and when spiritual science is genuine, these two sciences agree. One familiar with the terminology and the narrative picture generated by these two sciences knows that they are seemingly far apart and they seemingly have little to do with each other.

Conventional natural science still sees spiritual science as largely nonsensical and engaging in utter fantasy.

Yet, by way of studying phenomena and the concepts therein, one can see coherence between these two sciences. Understanding and translating the vocabulary of the two sciences is a key in understanding their coherence.

Rudolf Steiner was a natural scientist and a spiritual scientist, but he chose largely to use esoteric vocabulary in his explanations. Now, a hundred years down the road, it is possible to translate this esoteric vocabulary into natural scientific vocabulary demonstrating coherence.

This series of presentations, dancing rigorously between natural science and spiritual science, will demonstrate this coherence.

These presentations will address epistemology, a wider evolutionary and human evolutionary background, and then focus on three case studies, labeled by Rudolf Steiner as the "Atlantean," the "Lemurian," and the "Fifth Post Atlantean." These three case studies are the key as there are geological, paleontological, and archeological records available to test Rudolf Steiner's research.

Steiner advocates each person thinking through what is more true and false. There is a need to put Steiner's research to the test, but, likewise, the natural scientific assertions too.

From a spiritual science perspective, it is important to begin to resolve what Steiner means by "Lemurian" and "Atlantean" as these concepts permeate his writings and lectures. Steiner is admired much of his work in education, eurythmy, art, agriculture, medicine, etc., but even his admirers are hard pressed from a natural scientific point of view to deal with these seemingly fantastic concepts of the "Lemurian' and the "Atlantean."

For Steiner and his philosophy of anthroposophy to be taken seriously and as a force of health in our present world, this issue needs resolving.

Michael Judge was born in Washington, DC, near the Smithsonian Natural History Museum to Irish immigrant parents. Michael has had a keen interest in the past and the prehistoric since being a young lad. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in History where he also studied geology, anthropology, and archeology. He has also held the State of Maryland Teacher Certification.

Michael encountered anthroposophy in 1978, reading Cosmic Memory by Rudolf Steiner. The precise descriptions in the book were striking, yet, of seeming fantastic content. There and then the urge to show the plausible coherence in evolution between natural science and spiritual science was born. It continues to this day 46 years on.

Michael has worked in business, some anthroposophical in nature. He has worked as a conventional educator and a Waldorf teacher. He holds a Waldorf Teaching Certificate, a Spacial Dynamics Certificate, and attended multiple sessions of the Rudolf Steiner Institute. Michael also founded and coordinates the Chesapeake BioDynamic Network, linking biodynamic endeavors in the greater Chesapeake Region (VA, MD, DE, DC, WV).

Michael has presented widely since 2010, looking to resolve Rudolf Steiner's picture of evolution with the conventional natural scientific picture of evolution.
