Calling Eurythmists: An Invitation to the Center for Anthroposophy
The Center for Anthroposophy in Keene, NH, has long included eurythmy in its several teacher training programs: elementary school, high school and its many adult learning programs, including the Waldorf Leadership and Community Development Program. This last-mentioned program has included Eurythmy in the Working Life for years as it is an introduction to eurythmy for adults who may have not experienced it before and who work as administrators of Waldorf schools across the US.
The upcoming autumn residency block is opened for experienced eurythmists to attend the in-person session from October 9 to October 13, 2026. As eurythmists, we will work with each other dealing with basic elements of Eurythmy in the Working Life and we will also join Waldorf administrators for part of the program.
All eurythmy sessions will be taught by Leonore Russell using Eurythmy in the Working Life, including those with the school administrators. In the joint sessions, there is an opportunity to experience how non-eurythmists “take to eurythmy” and how it is taught in a way that answers their questions. There will also be at least two additional 60-90 minute sessions just for eurythmists to explore principles of adult learning, discuss their experience, and pose questions.
This introduction to the training prepares participants to explore and further their understanding of the approach, and may be followed by three- or four week-long sessions in subsequent years. (Participants need not commit to the whole training at this time.) Leonore took this program in the 1990’s with Annemarie Erhlich of the Hague, the originator of the method, and has since worked with it in schools, the Center for Anthroposophy, Adelphi University, Waldorf faculties, and businesses. We hope you will join us. Annemarie’s method is found by many to be quite wonderful.

Leonore Russell is an experienced eurythmist and Waldorf teacher with a long association with the Center for Anthroposophy. She specializes in Eurythmy in the Working Life and has collaborated with the Center for Anthroposophy to form the Eurythmy Teacher Education Program as well as the High School Teacher Education Program. She taught in both programs before working with Torin Finser in the Collaborative Leadership programs for Waldorf administrators and faculties. During 2013-2017, she taught with Douglas Gerwin in the High School Teacher Training in San Paulo, Brazil.
She presently collaborates with the courses for Center for Anthroposophy’s Waldorf administrators (Waldorf Leadership and Administrators’ Program).
Leonore has been a consultant for Waldorf schools, a member of the AWSNA Pedagogical Mentors Seminar, and AWSNA Mexico Committee. Her work comes from a long career in teaching at Adelphi University and the Waldorf School of Garden City. She works in higher education and businesses to motivate and empower adults. She has an art studio where she paints and teaches children and adults. An avid gardener, she is now Director of the Education and Farm Advisory Chair at Crossroads Farm, Nassau Land Trust, in Malverne, NY.
