Experiencing Eurythmy on Stage

When the curtain rises on a eurythmy performance, the audience is drawn into a world where gesture, movement, and choreographed forms are uniquely integrated. The eurythmists move through rich, flood-lit colors in a space that feels alive, not empty. The eurythmists' silk dresses subtly amplify their movements, expressing through color and design the innate character of the piece being performed. Layered over each dress is a gossamer-thin silk veil whose movements complete the invisible sound forms begun with each gesture.

Eurythmy embodies the artistic conversation between the seen and unseen, the performers and the space, and between the eurythmists' movements and the speakers' or musicians' live sounds. To see eurythmy imparts a healing experience of the inner life that underlies what is being outwardly embodied in movement and sound. When expressed in eurythmy, the gestures and forms within sound bring about a rejuvenating, strengthening, and healing balance and integration.

The Eurythmy Spring Valley Ensemble

The Eurythmy Spring Valley Ensemble is one of the world’s most active eurythmy touring groups. The ensemble has toured and performed continuously since 1986, bringing full evening programs, children’s programs, and special performance projects to schools, communities, and conferences all over North America, Europe, and Asia.

The ensemble is central to Eurythmy Spring Valley’s mission of introducing eurythmy to new communities and audiences. We continually strive to develop programs that inspire and refresh audiences of all ages and backgrounds by opening a direct experience of the beauty, substance, and healing that eurythmy has to offer. By bringing artistic eurythmy into Waldorf school communities throughout the US and around the world, we foster the development of strong and sustainable eurythmy programs within Waldorf schools.
