What’s in a Story?
Revealing Creatures and Character through Eurythmy

with Annelies Davidson and Michael Widmer
June 19-24, 2011 at the School of Eurythmy
Coure fee: $400

The 2011 Summer Eurythmy Week will feature the exploration of short fable-like poems. In them we will find creatures of all kinds and enjoy their names and movements, including how the sounds of speech capture their characters. Relishing the words frog, goose, fish, lamb, flea, and tasting the sounds they are made up of, will give us the desire to move like them. Character—our own, the sounds’, as well as the creatures’, will keep us busy (and perhaps amused) and give us yet another approach to what eurythmy has to offer. In tone eurythmy, we will also work on pieces that bring out different moods and characters. As we move to music that is lively, tender, meditative, sorrowful, or passionate, we will expand our souls into all directions of experience. Artistic classes will round out the schedule. Summer Conference for Professional Eurythmists with Michael Leber :
Glimpses at Rudolf Steiner's Indications in Speech Eurythmy
August 26 - 28, 2011at the School of Eurythmy
Conference Fee: $200

We are very excited to confirm that Michael Leber, from the Eurythmeum Stuttgart, will give a weekend course at Eurythmy Spring Valley this summer, following directly after our Pedagogical Refresher Course. Michael has two wonderful themes of work that he will bring; Rudolf Steiner’s indications for Satire, including some indications he received directly from Elena Zuccoli, and the world of elemental beings.  He would use a couple of poems translated into English for his exploration of elemental beings, including one by Albert Steffen.  He may explore one or both of themes in the course of the weekend. This professional workshop with Michael is an opportunity to explore indications in eurythmy so rarely available on this continent.   For those who have never had the opportunity to work with Michael Leber, his workshops are memorable,  through the artistic creativity he fosters, the humor he brings to his teaching , and the  depth of his knowledge about eurythmy.  Join us for this wonderful opportunity to work with and get to know Michael Leber. For information on the conference, contact Lura Jacobs at 845-352-5020, ext. 13, or by email at info@eurythmy.org.

Special Note:  Attend both the Pedagogical Refresher Course and the Michael Leber Workshop for a combined price of $500. Contact Eurythmy Spring Valley for details.
