PART-TIME BACHELOR'S COURSE WILL TAKE PLACE AT EURYTHMY SPRING VALLEY AND AT THE NORWEGIAN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF EURYTHMY IN OSLO IN 2012 -14

This year eight eurythmists from the US, Germany, Sweden and Norway are taking part in the part-time Bachelor  course with Michael Leber and Coralee Schmandt at the Norwegian University College of Eurythmy in Oslo. This course offers the opportunity for graduates of recognized trainings to upgrade their diplomas to a Bachelor’s degree in three modules: two weeks in October, one week in February, and one week in July when graduation takes place. The students receive individual guidance during the modules and work independently on assigned tasks in between.

The exciting news is that in order to make the course more available to eurythmists living and working in North America, the next BA Course (2012 -13) will be offered in Spring Valley, New York for the first two modules and only the last one will be Oslo!

Dates for BA Course 2012 - 13:

Module 1: (Spring Valley) Sunday, Sept. 30 – Friday, Oct. 12

Module 2: (Spring Valley) Sunday, Feb. 17 – Saturday, Feb.23

Module 3: (Oslo) Sunday, June 30 – Saturday, July 6.

Eurythmists are expected to meet similar requirements to those of the graduates of Den norske Eurytmihøyskole. They will do this by preparing solos with Steiner forms in tone and speech eurythmy between October and February, and choose their own tone and speech solos for July. The latter are accompanied by oral and written presentations on the creative process they went through. As well, participants work on group pieces in each session that will be presented in July. There are also examinations in Music Theory and Speech Formation and a paper on Eurythmy Pedagogy.

According to the participants, the BA Course is not just about fulfilling requirements that have been met in earlier training, but it is a rare opportunity for further education and artistic development for eurythmists who are active daily as teachers and therapists.

We are looking for 15 applicants by the deadline, May 15th, to ensure that we can begin, so do apply early!  Send your CV, a copy of your eurythmy diploma and proof of high school graduation as well as your personal details (including date of birth) to Coralee Schmandt, Den norske Eurytmihøyskole, Prof. Dahlsgt. 30, 0260, Oslo, Norway or scan and send to ecoralees@gmail.com. The fees for the BA Course are $3000 US. $750 is due when registering. The course is taught in English.

If you would like more information or have questions, contact Coralee Schmandt at ecoralees@gmail.com.
